Behind the Lines: Gender in the Bunker of Security and Defence?
Years ago, I had the great pleasure of working with a young man named Ciaran. We were part of the same team, working to track development projects in Helmand. You can view the fruits of our labour here – Development Tracking in Helmand Wiki.
These days Ciaran can be found working hard on his PhD at the University of Surrey. He was recently involved in what sounds like a truly fascinating conference on gender and security called Behind the Lines: Gender in the Bunker of Security and Defence?
I was unable to attend, so was very glad to see that the conference was covered by this excellent Storify –
If you have even a passing interest in gender and security, and all the topics that this covers, check out the Storify (click the image above or click here). Really made me want to dust off my thinking cap and return to the wonderful word of academia….
I’m really looking forward to reading some of the papers that are mentioned in the Storify. Some of the tweets were just too intriguing to ignore!!
